About
Leeds Sands is a volunteer led Group that works to promote Sands’ vision in our area.
Leeds Sands are a group of bereaved parents who provide mutual support for anyone affected by the death of a baby, either before, during, or shortly after birth. The support we provide is free of charge and is open to all bereaved parents, their families and friends, no matter the circumstances of your loss, or how long ago your loss occurred. We work with and promote the three core aims of Sands which are to:
- Support anyone affected by the death of a baby
- Work in partnership with health professionals to improve the quality of care and services offered to bereaved families
- Promote research and changes in practice that could help to reduce the loss of babies' lives.
We work with Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust to ensure all parents receive the best possible care.
Our services are free of charge, but we do rely upon kind donations to enable us to continue to do the work we do in Leeds. All donations help to make a positive difference and help us to reduce the numbers of babies dying in the UK today.
We are a focal point for fundraising, with many wonderful and dedicated fundraisers working so hard to support Sands locally and nationally. Help us by giving generously – your donation can make a positive difference and help us to reduce the numbers of babies dying in the UK today.
